Home Away from Home

One of life’s simplest pleasures is to share an experience with our loved ones. We’d love to share our 'home away from home' with you as you build memories with your family.
Create memories with your family and friends at the Rawhide Rendezvous in Bear Lake!  Located in St. Charles, Idaho, in the beautiful Bear Lake Valley, Rawhide Rendezvous is a perfect spot (wheelchair-accessible) for your family and friends to gather for special occasions or just for a few days away.  Rawhide Rendezvous gets its name from the early history of Bear Lake when many mountain men, including Jedediah Smith and Jim Bridger, met on the south shore of the lake with Native Americans to swap goods and stories. This is the origin of the Rocky Mountain Rendezvous, which continues to this day in mid-September. Hope you enjoy 'rendezvous-ing' with your family and friends at our 'home away from home!'

What is truly unique about our 'home away from home' is the quiet solitude. During the busy summer months, other areas in Bear Lake can be wall-to-wall people, and we love our part of the lake, which is away from all of that. That being said, we're close to all of the fun activities that Bear Lake has to offer.  We've put together some information about playin', eatin' and prayin'.  Check out the documents on the right side bar.

Our home has six bedrooms and sleeps 19 people in beds with 40+ the maximum capacity.  The master bedroom has a queen-size bed as well as a twin-size roll-away bed in the closet.  The other two upper floor bedrooms have one double-size bed each, plus there is a sleeping mat located in the closet of Bedroom #3.  Downstairs, the three bedrooms each have a queen-size bed.  Two bedrooms also have bunk beds; the other has a twin-size trundle bed.  You are welcome to bring sleeping bags as an alternative to sleeping six in a bed.  There are two sleeping mats in each of the downstairs bedrooms (located in the closets) so that little kids can be comfortable sleeping on the floor.  The couches and lounge chairs are pretty comfortable for sleeping, too, and you're also welcome to pitch tents outside on the spacious lawn for large family gatherings.

There are two full bathrooms on the main floor and two full bathrooms downstairs.  Two hot water heaters ensure that there is plenty of hot water.
  • Main floor: 2 bathrooms with toilets, garden tub and double shower in master bath, and shower/tub in second bathroom.
  • Downstairs: 2 bathrooms with toilets and combination tubs/showers.
The main floor has a wonderful great room with floor-to-ceiling, lake-facing windows, a big-screen HDTV, Blu-ray/DVD player, wireless internet, well-equipped kitchen, dining area, walk-in pantry, and laundry room.  The downstairs is a daylight basement that opens onto a patio that faces the lake. There is a large family room and a small kitchenette with a sink, small fridge, and microwave.  Another big-screen HDTV with attached Blu-ray/DVD player can be found in the family room, along with an extensive movie selection.  Pop some popcorn, sit back, and relax!

Feeding a crowd can be a challenge, but we've tried to provide everything you need.  You literally can cook a Thanksgiving dinner here – even pies and loaves of bread!  In the pantry there is a double waffle iron, griddle, popcorn popper, crock pot (adjusts for small or large meals), and blender.  Seating a crowd is also no problem.  The dining table seats eight, there are three barstools for seating at the island, and there are three 8-ft Lifetime tables and 32 plastic chairs for additional seating.

For indoor fun, toys, puzzles, and board games can be found in the closet under the stairs.  Outdoor fun is right at hand, too, with volleyball, tetherball, football, soccer, and horseshoes.  And take advantage of the myriad of activities Bear Lake has to offer!  We love the western melodramas at the Pickleville Playhouse (Juanito Bandito is our favorite), Minnetonka Cave is awesome, and, of course, nothing beats fun at the lake with family and friends.

Spending time with family (at North Beach)
This is why we come.
Hope to see you at the Rawhide Rendezvous!
